Areas of Focus: Sydney’s counselling training and experience has centered on using a
developmental approach to support children and adolescents to thrive. Areas of specialty include neurodivergence, including Autism and ADHD, as well as anxiety and depression. Sydney has experience using drama and movement to encourage self-expression, social skills, and peer relationship development. Sydney is trained in Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT).
Approach to Therapy: Sydney takes a collaborative, person-centered, evidence-based approach
to therapy. She creates a space that allows clients to show up as they are. She believes in strength-based and neurodiverse affirming frameworks as a foundation for development and growth. Sydney’s goal is to help clients connect with their strengths and develop skills and tools that empower them in their lives.
Educational Background and Training: BA (Honours) Psychology at the University of Alberta,
MA in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa
