Eliana Brehaut

Eliana is a Clinical Psychology PhD candidate at Queen’s University, currently completing a practicum under Dr. Adrienne Matheson. Her clinical experience has focused on supporting neurodivergent individuals (i.e., those with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences) through psychoeducational assessment and therapy. More generally, she has experience using evidence-based treatment modalities to help clients navigate a range of social and emotional challenges. At Child in Mind, she aims to provide clients with a supportive environment to express themselves openly, understand their strengths and challenges, and work towards meaningful goals.

Outside of the therapy room, she does research exploring how life stress—especially early experiences of childhood maltreatment—shapes the course of depression over time. She hopes this work will support those most at risk and help prevent future episodes of depression
